Meditation teacher Anam Thubten, who grew up in Tibet, will offer a lecture and a meditation retreat the weekend of March 27.
Thubten will offer a talk at 7 p.m. Friday, March 27, at The Sage School Barn in Hailey. Suggested donation is $15 or $20 at the door, but no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
Thubten will follow that up with a weekend meditation retreat Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29, at The Sage School. The topic of the retreat is “Resting in Awareness: Finding Ground in Uncertain Times.”
“Being in retreat allows us to cleanse the mind of mental patterns that block us from seeing the pure nature of reality,” said retreat organizer Mary Ann Chubb. “When we let go of our various ego defenses, it helps our hearts to open.”
The retreat costs $150 and scholarships are available. Contact Chubb at m80@cox.net for more information and to receive a link to register.
Thubten began to practice in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism at an early age. He founded the Dharmata Foundation in Point Richmond, Calif., and leads meditation retreats around the world.
