Learn about the ambulance and library measures that will be on the May 19 ballot on Sunday when the Blaine County Democrats host a Town Hall on the subject.

The presentation will start at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at Hailey Town Center West, 116 S. River St.

Tim Keirn will discuss the proposal to create a Big Wood River Library District that would unite the Hailey and Bellevue public libraries. A “Yes” vote would create the district—a permanent levy that ensures the libraries are sustainable into the future.

Patrick McIntyre will discuss the two-year temporary levy that would fund three years of operations for ambulance services in Blaine County.

If approved, there would be a property tax increase that would provide a million dollars a year for ambulance service. The levy would cost $6.72 per $100,000 in additional levy dollars, bringing the total to $17.62 per $100,000 for two years.

The discussion will be moderated by Chantal Westerman.
