Enjoy tales of the Sawtooth wolf pack, rangers of the past and astronomy before Galileo during this summer’s free Sawtooth Forum and Lecture Series.

This year’s series, which begins Friday, July 5, has been dubbed “The Adventure Starts Here.” And it will feature some adventurous speakers, including Sawtooth wilderness outfitter Joe Leonard and Jim and Jamie Dutcher.

“This year’s Sawtooth Forum Lecture Series has been curated to present attendees with informative and exciting topics about Sawtooth Valley natural life, as well as issues concerning environmental interests,” said Executive Director Sarah Cawley.

The series, sponsored by the Sawtooth Interpretive & Historical Association, will be held at 5 p.m. every Friday from July 5 through Aug. 26 at the Stanley Museum. The one exception: The Aug. 2 lecture, which will be held at the Stanley Community Center.

July 5 — Bob Beckwith – Salmon Headwaters to the Pacific Ocean

July 12—Joe Leonard – A Journey Into the Sawtooth Wilderness

July 19—Corrine Coffman with Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of NCA with live birds on hand

July 26—Dan Noakes – Inside the Idaho Centennial Trail

**Aug. 2—Jim and Jamie Dutcher – Sawtooth Wolf Pack

Aug. 9—Frances Cassirer – Wild Sheep!

Aug.16—Dave Kimpton, Tom Kovalicky and Jay Sevy – Stories from Rangers Past

Aug. 23—Brian Jackson – Astronomy Before Galileo

Aug. 30—Russ Thurow – Born to Be Wild: History, Status, and Recovery of Wild Chinook Salmon in Central Idaho.
