Smart Art! Is Back
Sunday, December 27, 2020

Sun Valley Museum of Art will continue its afterschool program Smart Art! In January and February.

The weekly arts education program for students in grades 4 and 5 includes six sessions over six weeks. It will begin Tuesday, Jan. 19, for those whose last names begin with M-Z, and Wednesday, Jan. 20 for those whose last names begin with A-L.

The classes will be held from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey.

Students will have the opportunity to explore a range of art forms, including visual arts, performing arts, literary arts and film. And they’ll learn about creative problem solving, self-expression and confidence building.

The program is supported by the Dawson Family. Scholarships are available in part with support from Lisa Stelck and William Boeger.

“Given the popularity of the program in the fall, we are excited to extend it through the winter,” said Katelyn Foley, director of education and humanities at SVMoA. “The program will follow the same model as in the fall, with guest artists sharing their craft, but it will incorporate different projects and activities, which will appeal to both new participants and those who took part in the last session.”

Tuition is $80 for SVMoA members and $100 for nonmembers. Pre-registration is required and scholarships are available. For information, visit or call 208-726-9491.
