STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

More than a hundred nativities will be on display this week at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Carey.

The tenth annual Festival of Nativities will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 1-3, and from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4.

There’ll be live music off and on and refreshments, as well as a chance for children to make Christmas ornaments.

“It’s just a great family event,” said Mare Mecham. “People bring in nativities from around the world, including Africa, Ghana and Mexico. The year before COVID we had 140 nativities."
