Learn about the latest nuclear energy innovations on Tuesday when The Community Library offers a program on “Nuclear Innovation at INL.”
Panelists from the National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC), Idaho National Laboratory and other organizations within the advanced nuclear energy sector will discuss their work at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 5.
The NRIC is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and headquartered at the Idaho National Laboratory, which sits in the high desert between Arco and Idaho Falls. It’s tasked with finding ways of using nuclear reactors to address today’s environmental and energy security challenges.
That includes developing a low-carbon technology that will offer an affordable, scalable tool for clean energy. Also, decarbonized heat generation, water desalination and hydrogen production and innovative applications for maritime propulsion and space technologies.
A Q&A will follow.
