The Sun Valley Museum of Art will hold a Summer Kickoff Celebration and Street Party from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 16, outside The Museum at 191 Fifth Street East in Ketchum.
The Museum will offer complimentary wine from its cellar and Tibbles and Sword will provide live music on Fifth Street. Additional refreshments will be available for purchase from Warfield Distillery & Brewery and Kellee Havens.
Retiring Artistic Director Kristin Poole will be honored for 25 years of service to the arts and community at 6 p.m., with remarks by Courtney Gilbert, the museum’s curator of Visual Arts.
And the new BIG IDE project, “Gardens: Collaborations with Nature,” will be unveiled. The exhibition features both outdoor and indoor installations as it considers natural spaces that are in many ways the inverse of wilderness.
“We invite you to show up, get inspired, get involved, and most of all celebrate as we toast to our dear friend and beloved colleague Kristin Poole and share in a sneak peek of our latest BIG IDEA,” said Peter Burke, the Museum’s development director.
