The Papoose Club is inviting the community to its Open House Social from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at The Mint in Hailey.

It’s a chance to learn about the Papoose Club—what it does, its fun-raisers and the organizations that benefit from Papoose Club support. There’ll also be a chance to socialize and enjoy wine and appetizers.

The results of the Wagon Days Pancake Breakfast will be announced, and the golden spatula will be awarded.

The Club was founded in 1954 as a babysitting co-op that allowed mothers to take turns skiing. By 19974 it had evolved to a nonprofit fundraising club that raises money through such events as the Webb Nursery Plant Sale to benefit the needs of children in the Wood River Valley.

Last year, for instance, Papoose Club members donated $2,500 for The Hunger Coalition’s infant formula program—enough to provide 33,000 bottles of formula for 365 children over a year’s time.

“Papoose Club has been a big part of this community for almost 70 years now,” said incoming vice president Anna Mathieu. “We put on the iconic KinderCup, Pancake Breakfast, Holiday Bazaar and other cherished community events. And we raise money for local youth.”

RSVP to Anna Mathieu at vp@papooseclub.org or on Facebook at https://fb.me/e/2WL3viDYh.
