The second annual Full Moon Community Dinner and Bonfire will be held Friday, Jan. 30.

The event was also to have included a Cross-Country Ski component. But, with no snow in Quigley Canyon, organizers are pivoting to a Bike bonanza.

The event, open to all, will kick off at 4:30 p.m. with light appetizers, and registration for a Cross-Generational Campus Criterium. There’ll be two Crit loops, one Crazy Campus Crawl and one Sagebrush Sprint.

There’ll be various challenges along the way, including the Dirt Hill Climb, Boulder Pile Challenge, Rope Swing Arch and Balance Beams.

It’s designed for co-ed teams of two to four people. One should be over 40 years of age and another, under 18.

Participants may pre-register by emailing matt@thesageschool.org. Or, form a team at the event. Trailhead Bicycles and Backwoods Mountain Sports are providing free rental fat bikes.

The Bike Bonanza starts with a Mass Start at 5:30 p.m. Helmets are required and lights are recommended.

A free soup and chili dinner will be held in the Sage School Barn following the Bike Bonanza at 6:30 p.m. A second dinner service and snack will roll out at 7:30 p.m.

A Pray for Snow Bonfire will follow dinner at 7:30 p.m. And, if conditions permit (think snow), there will be Trebuchet fire throwing at 8:30 p.m.

The event is designed to create community connectedness and mental well-being in the Wood River Valley as part of Blaine County’s Mental Well-Being Initiative.
