Idaho BaseCamp will throw its ninth annual Feastival Friday, Sept. 15, through Sunday, Sept. 17.

The celebration of the harvest will take place at the BaseCamp at 4921 Trail Creek Road this side of Mackay where attendees will be able to set up camp for the weekend.

Music will be provided by the party band Pixie and the Partygrass Boys, the Boise-based Lounge on Fire, Acid Genie and Boise singer-songwriter Ana Lete.

And attendees are invited to vie for the Golden Beet trophy by presenting their best dish incorporating beets in the seventh annual Beet Off.

The weekend will also feature potluck dinners (Feastival is touted to host the largest potluck dinner in Idaho), fermented drink workshop, edible plant walk, yoga, aromatherapy sessions, sustainable living talks and workshops, fishing, a rhythm and roots dance and hiking.

Tickets are $40 to $65 for adults, $22.50 to $37.50 for teenagers and $10 to $20 for youngsters 6 through 12, based on whether attendees are spending one night or two. Saturday after dinner is $25. Tickets are available at www.idahobasecamp.org.

Volunteers can get free entry by emailing whitney@idahobasecamp.org

From Ketchum drive 28 miles over Trail Creek Summit. BaseCamp is on the river side just past Bady Creek. Or, drive south from Challis on Highway 93 towards Mackay and turn east on Phi Kappa/Trail Creek Road, driving nine miles until you hit the dirt road. BaseCamp is on the left a quarter mile.

Proceeds from Feastival go to Idaho BaseCamp, an educational non-profit that teaches about the environment, community and individual impact on nature through personal development courses and youth camps.
