STORY AND PHOTOS BY KAREN BOSSICK The City of Bellevue turned out Friday night to welcome their new neighbor. And Silver Creek Hotel rolled out the welcome mat, with entertainment by Colla Voce women’s ensemble, tours of its suites and countless rides up Bellevue’s first elevator. The hotel opened just in time for the Great American Solar Eclipse on Aug. 19, and it has done well in its first couple months, said Owner Greg Anderson.

The hotel has become a home away from home for Idaho Power Company and construction workers. And it was full during the Trailing of the Sheep Festival. "We're affordable," Anderson said. "$200 a night rooms are not what the average person can afford." Anderson comes from Salmon, Idaho, and he's happy to be here. "The Sun Valley area has way more amenities than Salmon. We're happy to be 50 miles from Costco. Salmon is four hours from Costco!"
