Afrosonics, a big group playing Afro rock with a big rhythm sound, will headline Ketch’em Alive tonight.

Afrosonics, a Boise-based fusion of guitars, drums, percussion, keyboards, electronic soundscapes, chants and dance,  will play the free concert series from 7:30 to 9 p.m. tonight—Tuesday, July 31—at Ketchum’s Forest Service Park at First and Washington streets.

Music students from C’s Mountain School—that would be Brazilian Cintia Scola’s school—will open the concert at 7 p.m. Picnics are welcome and food trucks will offer food and drink for sale.

Here are the other free vibes for this week, not counting the Sun Valley Summer Symphony’s In Focus Concerts, which take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the Sun Valley Pavilion:

Wednesday, Aug. 1—Wildflowers will present their Wood River tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Wicked Spud in Hailey. Raffle and drink sales will benefit Syringa Mountain School.

Wednesday, Aug. 1—Secuestrado, a country/rock band from Bellevue, will perform a free show from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the patio at Whiskey Jacques in Ketchum.

Thursday, Aug. 2—The Jeremiah James Gang, made up of some honky tonk Idaho cowboys, will liven things up with some country outlaw music from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Mahoney’s Bar and Grill in Bellevue.

Thursday, Aug. 2—Audio Moonshine, a rock/Americana band from Boise will stage a free performance from 9 p.m. to midnight at Whiskey Jacques in Ketchum.

Friday, Aug. 3—Mandy Rowden will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Sawtooth Brewery Hailey Tap Room at 110 N. River St.
