STORY BY KAREN BOSSICK PHOTOS BY ANNE JEFFERY A reception celebrating new art at Friedman Memorial Airport will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in the lobby of the airport. The community is invited to peruse the art and meet the artists, while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and beverages, including wine and beer.

Brightening one wall is “Enso Luminary: Field of Dreams,” a crosscut bamboo, acrylic, wood, paint and LED lighted piece by Anne Crumpacker.

There are 50 new pieces of art by 38 local artists. The newest exhibition in the airport’s revolving art display is characterized by bright colors, new works and a wide variety of styles and artists, according to Anne Jeffery, who is part of the committee that curates and hangs the art. Parking will be validated.

From the colorful to the more nuanced, there is a wide variety of art in the new exhibit, including “Dreamscapes: Mountain High,” an archival pigment print by Lisa Ryan-Boyle, and “Forest Floor,” an oil pastel and Sumi ink on Bristol Paper by Berkeley Hoerr.
