Brett Dennen, a clever, wry songwriter and singer who has played Austin City Limits, Newport Folk and Telluride Bluegrass Festivals, will perform Jan. 29 as part of the Sun Valley Museum of Arts’ 2022 Performing Arts Residency and Concert Series.
His love of skiing has led Dennen to create a “Lift Series” tour, and this stop in Sun Valley is part of his tour targeting his favorite ski resorts. It also will showcase his concern over the environment and future of resort towns in the face of changing climate.
The series contains four concerts, and all visiting musicians will work with local students and schools.
“While Brett Dennen will play one evening, the other three acts are booked for two performances due to their overwhelming appeal,” said Kristine Bretall, director of Performing Arts at The Museum. “We are offering a special opportunity for the We Banjo 3 concerts, with café table seating in front at The Argyros. We’ll be selling those tables as a set of four seats and expect them to sell quickly.”
The lineup:
- Brett Dennen will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 at The Argyros Performing Arts Center in Ketchum. Tickets start at $20 for SVMoA members, $30 for nonmembers and $10 for students.

The cellists will be joined by musicians who worked with Prince, such as Saeeda Wright and Tyroe Hendrix, as they perform diversely curated music that influenced or was influenced by The Purple One.
