Meet the Poison Hemlock, Monkeyflower and Others

Saturday, May 31, 2025

The spring of 2025 is shaping up to be an extraordinary year for wildflowers with big bouquets of various flowers lining trails in Croy Canyon, south valley gulches and out Rock Creek.

But there’s one flower you’d do best to stay away from. It’s the water hemlock, a member of the parsley family, and ingestion of any part of the plant can be lethal for humans and cattle.

Eye on Sun Valley’s Lisa Horton will introduce you to this plant, along with other more friendly flowers like the beautiful Yellow Monkeyflower, in today’s wildflower video.
