David Donovan was a Division 1 All American at Duke University and a No. 1 pick in the National Lacrosse League, playing professionally for nine years. After working at Fidelity Investments and other investment financial institutions for 20 years, he moved to Sun Valley where he is now serving as the commissioner of the Idaho High School Lacrosse League.
Donovan and Sun Valley native Kati Thorson had planned to debut their Ketchum Release Lacrosse camp combining lacrosse with opportunities for players to learn fly-fishing and the teachings of Native Americans who started the game of lacrosse, while taking part in activities like whitewater rafting.
Their grand vision had to be pared back because of the coronavirus pandemic. But, still, youngsters have come from throughout the West to take part in the initial Ketchum Release Lacrosse camp. Eye on Sun Valley’s Karen Bossick takes you to the Sagewillow Fields in Sun Valley for a look at the sport of lacrosse in today’s video.
