Janet Starr Started with Dye

Tuesday, August 16, 2022

Janet Starr’s path to art started by rummaging in her junk drawer and discovering some orange Rit fabric dye. She began dyeing everything in sight and soon she was creating large abstract wall hangings out of the cloth she dyed. Over time she added cold wax, oils and acrylics as she created warrior princesses with attitude and more.

Janet Starr is one of 41 Wood River Valley artists who will invite visitors into her studio during the Artists of the Wood River Valley Studio Tour, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Aug. 19-21.

Learn more about the way in which Janet works in today’s Eye on Sun Valley video. Then, check out the map in the ad in today’s Eye on Sun Valley or at https://artiststudiotour.com/locations/ so you can watch her work in person.
