Jack Sept is not riding his trusty stead Wind River, you’re likely to find him holed up in his Bellevue studio, tooling, stamping and cutting leather to create Western belts, saddles and other functional art.
Sept’s passion for the traditional western lifestyle developed while growing up on Montana and Wyoming ranches around working cowboys, horses and saddles. He took his first leather tooling class from the legendary saddle maker Don King when he was just 12.
Sept will usher visitors into his studio full of cowboy gear, hat bands and custom belts during the fifth annual Artists’ Studio Tour of the Wood River Valley, which takes place Friday through Sunday, Aug. 22-24, at artists’ studios from Bellevue to Sun Valley.
