The Sun Valley Youth Hockey high school team has won its fourth state championship in a row.
The Sun Valley team won their fourth Idaho Amateur Hockey Association state high school tournament title championship by defeating a U16 team from Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy 5-1 at the Campion Ice House. The team has 37 wins, six loses and four ties on the year.
Thomas Nisson, Billy Burks, Dawson Speth, Brock Burrell and Gage Whitehead scored 37 goals during the five games while goalie Clayton Elsbree made 59 saves, holding opponents to five goals. Luke Hebert was a standout on defense.
