The Community School Cutthroats defeated the Bliss Bears 52-30 Thursday night in the Fishtank.
In front of a big crowd on Senior Night, Jackson Dies and Henry Pollack led the home team to a convincing victory over their Northside Conference Rivals. Dies dominated the point, pumping in 22 points, while Pollack had 19 points for the victors. Sophomore Peter Morawitz chipped in 11 points, including three 3-pointers.
The Cutthroats scored the first 9 points of the game and never looked back. A Morawitz 3-pointer at the end of the first quarter gave the home team a 14-4 edge, and they stretched that lead to 26-12 at halftime.
Dies continued flexing his inside strength in the second half, and the Cutthroats pulled away for the victory.
Fittingly, Coach Mike Payne pulled his two seniors with 50 seconds remaining in the game, sending the crowd into a frenzy, wrapping up the season with only four players on the floor.
The Cutthroats, who played with five or six players all season long, finished with a record of 5 wins and 7 losses.
