Sun Valley Golf and other golf courses around the valley are in full swing. But they’ve taken on a new look in the age of the coronavirus pandemic.
Cups have been raised so golfers don’t have to reach into a hole. Golfers are encouraged to carry their own clubs or use just one cart per person. And there are no congratulatory handshakes or slaps on the back.
But the game has certainly become a form of pandemic relief for Wood River Valley residents. Big Wood Golf, for instance, tallied 1,200 rounds during the month of April compared with 200 during the same period last time, even though tee times were spaced 20 minutes apart, rather than the customary 10.
