Broadway Lift Showcases New Side of Sun Valley Skiing

When Bald Mountain was transformed into an alpine skiing playground, one of the three ways down the mountain was Cold Springs. Skiers skied down a trail through Cold Springs Canyon, then to the highway where a bus would pick them up, returning them to Sun Valley Resort.

The newest chapter in the Cold Springs story started last week with the opening of a new Broadway lift that replaced the 50-year-old two-seat Cold Springs lift, a lengthening of the Broadway run and the inclusion of a new Sunrise Bowl and a variety of glades and chutes within ski resort boundaries.

Eye on Sun Valley’s Karen Bossick and Ben Drummond take you there in today’s video.
