BY MICHAEL DAVID

The Sun Valley Suns welcomed a new team with some familiar faces to the Campion Ice House this weekend as they hosted a two-game series against the Boston Moon.

The Suns proved to be less than hospitable as they defeated the visitors 8-4 on Friday and came from behind to win 9-5 on Saturday.

Nick Curry had his second consecutive four-goal game on Friday and he was joined by goal scorers Charlie Evans, Taylor Rothgeb, DJ Robinson and Steve McCall. Bobby Bowden picked up another victory in the goal.

On Saturday the Suns had reliable Matt Cooper back in goal. It took Coop a few minutes to shake off the rust of a long layoff, as the Moon scored three quick goals in the first period to take a 3-0 lead. But the veteran goalie hit his stride and the Suns stormed back for the 9-5 victory.

Scoring for the Suns: Nick Curry, Max Tardy, Justin Taylor, Derek Grimes, Dylan Shamburger and Rothgeb.

Suns host their rivals, The Jackson Moose, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 17-18, at the Campion Ice House in Hailey. Puck drops at 7 p.m. both nights.
