Tenor Jordan Weatherston Pitts, who made a splash singing in Sun Valley two years ago, is back—this time to perform at a Sweetheart’s Tea hosted by Sun Valley Opera and Broadway.
The Valentine’s Day Sweetheart’s Tea & Concert titled “Songs of Love” will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the American Legion Hall. Tickets are available at https://www.sunvalleyopera.com/ or by calling Robyn Watson at 818-577-7811.
The seated tea will include French canapes, macaroons, sable cookies, handmade chocolate truffles, hot chocolate, assorted teas and French champagne.
The main course, of course, is Pitts, who has been recognized for his "heroic," "passionate" and "bewitching" performances in concert and on operatic stages.
Pitts will perform some numbers from opera, as well as French and Spanish love songs. Among the songs he promises to sing are Consuelo Velazquez's "Besame Mucho," Carl Sigman's "Ebb Tide," Andrew Lloyd Webbers' "Music of the Night" from "Phantom of the Opera," Leo Ferre’s “Jolie Mome,” Charles Trenet’s “Coin de rue” a Jules Massenet medley and Leo Chisso's "Love in Portifino."
Pitts performed with Costa Rican-American songbird Teresa Castillo at a concert celebrating Edith Piaf’s song “La Vie en Rose” in March 2022 at The Argyros. He sealed the deal then, pulling off “Jolie Mome” with his perfect French accent.
Last summer he competed on “France Has Talent” where he was a finalist. Following his appearance in Sun Valley, he will be touring France.
He has been featured in a variety of publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Classical Review, The Financial Times, Opera News, OperaWire, The Boston Globe, Early Music America Magazine, and The New York Times.
He also has made guest appearances on NPR and ABC News.
He holds a Master of Music from Boston University and a Bachelor of Music Performance from SUNY Fredonia.
