Iconic Sun Valley landmarks will get their due when Boulder Mountain Clayworks hosts its annual Tuscany in the Garden fundraiser next week.
The event, a fundraiser for the nonprofit organization, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden.
With a Wild West theme on tap, Boulder Mountain Clayworks potters like Diane Walker have fashioned Sun Valley-themed lamps and sculptural wall tiles paying homage to the Sun Valley Red Barn and other local institutions.
There also will be plenty of other creations fashioned by studio potters in a silent auction, a 3D painting by Therman Statom, a Sun Valley ski pass and plenty of raffle prizes
Attendees can choose from an array of beautiful complimentary wine cups made by studio potters for which to sip their beverages. And food will be provided by the Ketchum Grill Pizza Truck and Sun Valley Culinary Institute.
Tickets are $75 if purchased in advance at https://bouldermtnclay.org or by calling 208-726-4484. They’re $90 at the door.
Boulder Mountain Clayworks, founded in 1997, offers clay making opportunities for all ages. It’s fully equipped for stoneware, porcelain and raku pottery with 12 wheels, a slab roller, pug mill extruder and plenty of room for hand building. The kiln room contains bisque and high fire kilns.
Not only does it offer classes, but Clayworks also provides the community opportunities to create artistic bowls for the annual Empty Bowls soup and salad fundraiser to benefit organizations like The Hunger Coalition and Blaine County Charitable Fund.
It is located in Ketchum’s 10th Street Center at 471 E. 10th St., Unit B6.
