POEM BY ED NORTHEN
I’m swaddled in a sleeping bag
watching meteor showers
celestial spheres of light
streak across an infinite universe
traveling millions of light years
in seconds
It’s Advent
I muse on sacred mysteries
incarnation
divine seed in vulnerable womb
like a planet being formed
within a new universe
ponder evolution
requiring billions of years
for metamorphose
two millennia since love became flesh
the flash of a meteor
across a night sky
incarnation still offered
to unfolded souls
