See some of the short films that have been nominated for Oscars on Thursday, Feb. 22.
The Sun Valley Museum of Art will present two screenings of Live Action shorts at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Magic Lantern Cinemas in Ketchum.
The entire presentation will run about 140 minutes.
Films being presented are:
The After – Misan Harriman and Nicky Bentham, 18 min., UK (in English). About a grieving rideshare driver who picks up a passenger who helps him confront the past.
Red, White and Blue – Nazrin Choudhury and Sara McFarlane, 23 min., USA (in English). About a single parent living paycheck to paycheck who must travel across state lines in search of an abortion after getting unexpectedly pregnant.
Knight of Fortune – Lasse Lyskjær Noer and Christian Norlyk, 25 min., Denmark (in Swedish/Danish). About a man facing the loss of a loved one, the risk of yellow skin and a coffin.
Invincible – Vincent René-Lortie and Samuel Caron, 29 min., Canada (in French). Recounting the last 48 hours in the life of 14-year-old Marc-Antoine Bernier.
The Wonderful World of Henry Sugar – Wes Anderson and Steven Rales, 40 min., US/UK (in English). An adaptation of Roald Dahl’s story about a rich man who sets out to master an extraordinary skill to cheat at gambling.

Animated Oscar Shorts will be shown Thursday, Feb. 29, and Documentary Oscar Shorts on Thursday, March 7.
