Jody Zarkos has been tabbed to be the new race director of Zions Bank Boulder Mountain Tour.
The Board of Directors of the Zions Bank Boulder Mountain Tour has announced that Zarkos will succeed Glen and Kelly Allison, who recently stepped down after four years of serving as race directors.
“Glenn and Kelly took the Boulder Mountain Tour to a new level of professionalism,” said BMT President Ellen Gillespie. “We are excited to have Jody take over from them…put her mark on the beloved event and make it even better.”
Zarkos has spent the past eight years with the Sun Valley Ski Education. She served as the Events Director for the last four years, managing marquee events such as the Janss Pro-Am, the Wild West Game Dinner, Olympic Day and Golf for the Gold.
Before that she served in a communications capacity.
She is no stranger to the Boulder Mountain Tour—she was the finish line announcer for more than 20 years.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Boulder Mountain Tour once again and cannot wait to take the baton from Kelly and Glen,” she said.
The Boulder Mountain Tour, which covers 32 kilometers from Galena Lodge to the Sawtooth National Recreation Area headquarters north of Ketchum, is considered one of the top Nordic races in the country. It often attracts Olympians and even racers from around the world.
The 2019 Boulder Mountain Tour will be held on Feb. 2, 2019.
