Pavement art featuring mountains, the river, a syringe blossom and even Sun Valley’s famed sheep greets those who pull into the parking lot outside the Hailey Welcome Center and Campion Ice House.
Anne Hastings created the mural, along with two students—Tara Bingham and Kate Horowitz.
The project was commissioned by the Hailey Arts and Historic Preservation Commission to provide a creative visual element to the Welcome Center, Ice House, Hailey Skate Park and Hailey Rodeo Grounds.
“This project came about as a concept to help unite the vibrant art, culture and activities in the community with our streets and infrastructure,” said Daniel Hansen, vice chair of the commission. ”The Arts and Historic Preservation Commission feels the project is a testament to our community’s creativity and teamwork and will add an additional visual gateway to an area already dedicated to sharing Hailey’s culture and history.
