A Few Good Men will take you “Way Down in Bethlehem” when they present their annual Christmas concerts.
The group of elite singers with an extra special dab of harmony have reunited for the Christmas holidays.
And they will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Emmanuel Church in Hailey, followed by a second free concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Ketchum. (The concert was originally scheduled for the Argyros Performing Arts Center but had to be switched as the new sound system there will not be operational until mid to late January.)
The group is preparing a number of songs for the occasion. Among them, “Twelve Days of Christmas,” “And the Angels Sang,” “Rise Up Shepherd and Follow,” “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” “My Lord, What a Morning,” “A La Nanita Nana,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Goin’ to Bethlehem,” “White Christmas” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
The group includes R.L. Rowsey, who knits their voices together. There have been a few comings and goings over the years among some of those who count themselves as Good Men. But longstanding voices include those of Tim Eagan, John Mauldin, Doug Taylor, Dick Brightman, Paul Stoops and Dawson Howard.
The B-Tones—R.L. Rowsey’s men’s choir at Wood River High School—will join A Few Good Men for a song or two, as well.
