It has arisen in the echoes of the Northern Rockies Folk Festival, which lasted for 39 years before playing its last note a few years ago.
But this new music festival celebrates summer’s end.
Summer’s End—The Draper Rendezvous—will take place from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Lion’s Park in Hailey.
The festival was founded by Luke Patrick Henry of DrSwanMusic with the objective of ensuring the music never stops.
Henry, who worked with the Northern Rockies Festival and now helps with the Sawtooth Valley Gathering in Stanley, has curated a mix of local bands and out-of-town bands.
Bands include the Shook Twins, Hillstomp, Pixie and the Partygrass Boys, Lounge on Fire, The Weary Times, Lost Ox, The Pan Handles, Andrew Sheppard, Aaron Golay & the Original Sins, High Mtn Heard, Secuestrado, Alyssa Joy Claffey, Matt Sloan and Cole Wells.
There will be arts and craft vendors, beverage and food. And there also will be yoga for adults and activities for children.
A raffle to help underwrite the festival will boast gift certificates for local restaurants, as well as tickets for the 2020 Sawtooth Valley Gathering in Stanley.
Tickets range from $5 to $35 with kids 16 and under admitted free. They’re available at the Sawtooth Brewery in Hailey, Mahoney’s Bar and Grill in Bellevue and Moss Garden Center in Ketchum. They’re also available online at Eventbrite.com.
