Ring in the New Year’s with night skiing. Relive the glory years with Three Dog Night. Or join hundreds of Sun Valley revelers in the popular Bubbly Bash.

  • Enjoy New Year’s Eve with the entire family by hitting the slopes under the lights at Dollar Mountain. The fun starts at 5 p.m. with skiing and riding on Quarter Dollar, face painting, New Year’s Eve party hat decorating and photo booth, plus a bouncy twister. The climax: Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Lift tickets are $40 for adults and $30 for kids 12 and under. Food will be available for purchase.

  • If you’re thinking of a more mellow evening, kick back to the piano tunes of Larry Harshbarger from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Ram Restaurant, or check out pianist Joe Fos and bass player Brad Hershey in the Duchin Lounge at Sun Valley Resort from 7 to 10 p.m.
  • Last we heard there were still some tickets left for New Year’s Eve Bubbly Bash at River Run Lodge. The party starts at 9 p.m. with dancing to the R&B pop and retro grooves of the Portland-based duo Ben Braden and Nick Sadler of Strange Hotels. There’ll also be complimentary bubbles until 10 p.m. and a midnight toast. Tickets are $150, available at www.sunvalley.com.
  • Whiskey Jacques in Ketchum will have The Social Animals, an indie rock band from Duluth, Minn., along with The Jacks rock and roll band from Los Angeles performing live downstairs. upstairs will be SoDown, a DJ from Boulder, Colo., performing live with guest DJ Diva. There'll be a champagne toast at midnight and tons of party favors. Purchase tickets online at $60 at www.whiskeyjacques.com or for $65 the day of show. Doors open at 9 p.m.
  • And, if you’ve been feeling the chill of single-digit mornings the past few days, what better way to close out the old year than cozying up to Three Dog Night.
The hit band of the 1960s and ‘70s will perform such Top 40 hits as “Joy to the World,” “Black and White,” “Shambala” and “Mama told Me (Not to Come)” at 7 p.m. at the Argyros Performing Arts Center. Tickets range from $150 to $200, available at www.theargyros.org
