This week’s snow should prove a bonus for Saturday’s Winter Tracking Workshop.
The Environmental Resource Center and Ann Christensen will lead a tracking workshop outdoors from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18.
Christensen will start the program at the ERC office at 471 Washington Ave., in Ketchum as she talks about local winter animals, their life-histories and their winter adaptations. She will then head outdoor on snowshoes looking for actual tracks.
Christensen studied with the famous tracker James Halfpenny.
Participants should bring snowshoes, warm clothes and water. There is a suggested donation of $10 for ERC members and $20 for non-members. Space is limited so pre-registration is encouraged at 208-726-4333 or alisa@ercsv.org.
Christensen will hold another Winter Tracking Workshop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.
On Saturday Jan. 25, Poo Wright-Pulliam will hold a bird walk. The bird walk will be held from 1 0 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Nature Conservancy’s Silver Creek Preserve, which is a winter haven for Trumpeter Swan, great horned owls and many duck species.
