Lions Park in Hailey is feeling pretty dressed up, thanks to a small group of Kiwanis members, some elbow grease and a few contributions from local businesses.
Members of the Kiwanis Club recently put on their tools belts and went to work sanding, buffing and painting the bleachers, picnic table and dugout benches at the Hailey park, which sits near the Big Wood River on the north side of Draper Preserve.
The effort left park props as bright as the summer season.
Tod and Angie Hunter of Idaho Lumber provided the paint and Larry Green of LL Greens, the paintbrushes. Eric Guvman of G Painting sprayed the larger part of the backdrop to the bleachers.
The Kiwanis take on one project at a time for the kids in the community. They have refurbished and provided new playground equipment for a handful of Hailey parks and have taken on additional projects such as literacy for preschool children.
To learn more, join the Kiwanis at a safe-distancing meeting at 11:30 a.m. in one of the Hailey parks or by Zoom. They meet at 11:30 a.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month.
