The Magic Lantern Cinemas will pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman by screening two of his films this week.
The Ketchum theater will screen “42,” Boseman’s portrayal of baseball legend Jackie Robinson who broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball. It will also screen “Get on Up,” in which Boseman portrayed soul singer James Brown, reputed to be “the hardest working man in show business.”
Boseman’s recreation of Brown was positively jaw dropping according to reviewers like Time magazine’s Richard Corless.
Boseman shocked the world when he died Aug. 28 at age 43 of colon cancer.
The star of Marvel’s “Black Panther” who appeared as Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall in “Marshall,” he continued to work during the four years after he was diagnosed, even while he underwent surgeries and chemotherapy.
“Get on Up” starts Friday at 6:50 p.m. “42” starts Friday at 4:10 p.m.
Theatergoers will be required to wear masks as they enter the theater and make their way to their seats. They may lower their masks once seated. The theater has spaced out seating to allow movie goers to physically distance.
