Raise your stein!

Munich may have cancelled its world-famous Oktoberfest due to the coronavirus.

But Sawtooth Brewery’s annual Oktoberfest will go on today and Saturday in Festival Meadows on Sun Valley Road.

Sun Valley Mayor Peter Hendricks will oversee the Tapping of the Firkin at 4 p.m. today, signifying the opening of the Beer Garden. Tom Archie and Doghaus will perform at 5 p.m. today.

On Saturday the Beer Garden will open at noon and continue to 9 p.m. Live music will be provided by Dusty and the Drifters at noon, Bob’s Down Town Sound at 2:45 p.m. and Powersteering at 5 p.m.

The Beer Olympics will take place at 3 p.m. Teams of four can compete for Das Boot in cornhole, stein hoisting and the volume chug.

It costs $40 a team to enter the Olympics and it includes pint glasses and beer.

For all others, admission is the price of a stein, with various choices ranging between $6 and $21. Drinks on tap include Red Wine & Whiskey Barrel Aged Standhope Doppelbock, Cranberry Gose, Bavarian Hefe, hard cider, root beer and wine by the glass.

There will also be a variety of foods, including warm Bavarian pretzels with beer cheese, potato dumplings with dried cherries, sauerkraut and herbs, pork schnitzel, bratwurst, vegan plan protein-based sausage, garlic knockwurst, frankfurter, pommes frittes with apricot-mustard and beer cheese and Danish almond-kringle pastry and warm apple compete served with whipped cream.
