The Wood River Women’s Foundation is accepting applications for its 2021 Grants program until Dec. 1.

“We look forward to continuing WRWF’s support of the important work local nonprofits are doing at this critical time,” said Grants Committee Co-Chair Gina Wolcott. “This year, in addition to reviewing project-based requests, we will also be focused on organizational support and sustainability.”

The Wood River Women’s Foundation is made up of about 300 women who donate $1,000 each. The money is pooled and granted to nonprofits for projects that the women vet prior to voting on them.

WRWF has granted nearly $2.5 million in more than 150 grants to local nonprofits during its 15-year history. In 2020, more than $300,000 was awarded to 17 organizations in grants ranging from $75,000 to $1,433.

Recipients have included the Keith Sivertson, MD, Compassionate Care Program, which assists patients with costs related to treatment; the Hunger Coalition for its efforts feeding people during the pandemic; The Advocates to purchase appliances for its new apartments; Hailey Public Library for laptops and, WiFi connects, and Men's Second Chance Living to upgrade plumbing and its kitchen.

The amount of funding available each year depends on the number of women who collectively contribute into the pool.

“We are a group of women who pool our resources to achieve greater impact in Blaine County,” said Terri Bullock, WRWF President. “The deadline for contributing towards the 2021 pool is Dec. 15, 2020, and we welcome all women to join us in working towards positive change in our community."

The completed application, including required attachments, is due on or before midnight Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020. WRWF accepts grant applications in a variety of areas including Arts, Education, Environment, Health and Recreation and Social Services. Grant awards range between $5,000 and $25,000 and will be distributed in July 2021.

Access the online grant application under the “Apply for a Grant” tab on the WRWF website www.woodriverwomensfoundation.org. Membership information is also available on the website.
