Ski and snowshoe for free on all Blaine County Recreation District trails on Saturday, Feb. 20.
The BCRD maintains more than 200 kilometers of winter trails, including 60-plus kilometers of trails at Galena Lodge, the 31-kilometer Harriman Trail, 22 kilometers of trails at Quigley Nordic and the 32-kilometer Wood River Trail, which is always free.
The trails are amply covered. And they’ve been seeing unprecedented usage this winter. Consequently, BCRD is asking users to:
- Pick up their dog’s waste and dispose of it properly.
- Refrain from walking on any ski or snowshoe trail, with the exception of the Wood River Trail, also known as the bike path
- Be prepared to choose a different site if parking is full
Mountain Rides is offering its Ride n’ Glide bus service for free Fridays through Sunday through Sunday, Feb. 28. The bus leaves Ketchum and makes stop at the Sawtooth National Recreation Area headquarters, Baker Creek Road, Prairie Creek Trailhead and Galena Lodge.
Face masks are required and capacity is limited to 15 riders. For a schedule, visit www.mountainrides.org.
