Watch Barbra Streisand’s “Funny Girl” on the lawn when the Sun Valley Opera presents the classic movie at 7:30 tonight on the Sun Valley Pavilion Lawn.
The lawn opens at 6:30 tonight—Monday, June 21—for picnicking. The film begins an hour later.
“Funny Girl” was one of the most popular movie musicals ever made, earning Streisand the 1968 Oscar for Best Actress.
It follows comedienne Fanny Brice from her hilarious debut as a roller-skating chorus girl to her performance in Ziegfield’s “Follies” where she brings the house down with an outrageous and unplanned number.
As her star rises, she falls in love with a handsome gambler played by Omar Sharif. But….well, you’ll just have to see the movie to see how that turns out.
The film’s songs include “Don’t Rain on My Parade” and the classic “People.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic and low-back chair. Masks are optional.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for those 17 and under available at Sunvalleyresort.eventbrite, com, Sunvalleyopera.com, by calling 208-622-2135 or at https://www.eventbrite.com/o/sun-valley-26458670229
