Tammy Adams was 11 when she started studying with a Hopi medicine man who turned her onto Sedona, Ariz.’s vortex, a concentrated energy field which some believe can amplify spirituality and healing.

So, she was beyond excited when she discovered a vortex in the Sun Valley area in 1994.

Adams, who has been a practicing Shaman for 30-plus years, practices at the Crystal Healing Room at 571 4th Street E. in Ketchum. She’s created a sanctuary for youth in the Warm Springs area of Ketchum.

And she will hold a free Vortex Meditation for adults and children from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Champions Meadow on Sun Valley Road. Attendees are invited to register at 208-913-0404.  

They should bring something to sit on, such as a blanket, yoga mat or towel, and leave metal bracelets and necklaces at home because they can cause interference in the energy flow.

“People travel the globe to feel the energy of Sedona, but few know that there’s something just as powerful and, maybe even more spiritually untouched, here in Sun Valley,” said Adams. “It is a gift from Mother Earth and the reason I’ve chosen to live in Sun Valley. I’ve  safeguarded it for more than 30 years, and now it’s time for others to feel her healing power.”

Adams grew up in the San Francisco Bay area where, she says, she could see her dead grandmother and great-grandmother and communicate with God, Jesus and Mother Mary. When her father’s cousin died in a car accident, she says, he came to her and told her how he died and told her to tell his wife that he was sorry.

Her parents didn’t know what to do with her, she says. But they were wealthy and so they paid for her to have an audience with such people as Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama.

“Pope John Paul taught me that God is in everything,” she said. “He told me: It’s not about what people want. It’s about what God wants. He convinced me that I’m here to serve God. So, I studied various religions to understand the fundamentals and became an ordained minister.

“I’m here to help people understand that God is real. There’s one God. We’re supposed to be good people. The end. That’s it.”

Adams said she talks with Guardian Angels and Spirit Guides to help people connect with their life’s purpose and self-love. She’s taught about self-empowerment, extraterrestrial contact and business prosperity to audiences in the United Kingdom, Peru, Nepal, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States. She’s authored a “Secret to your Chakras” book and has created a meditation music album and “Karma Talk” podcast.

Her nonprofit House of Angels Foundation aids children in overseas orphanages. She’s launching a new Spiritual TLC (Teen Life Care) which she will discuss at the meditation. And, recently, she started a sanctuary for what she calls “indigo kids”—kids that have been labeled mentally ill or schizophrenic because they see spirits, just as she did when she was a youth.

“Gifted and intuitive kids are often judged and mislabeled. And, as a result, many end up in mental facilities. I give their families tools to support their children, stand by their children and even help them continue practicing their skills, whether astro traveling or healing.”

Adams said the Sun Valley vortex is one of the most powerful vortexes in America—more powerful than Sedona, more powerful than the one at Mount Shasta in California.

“I try to teach people how to connect to the frequency of vibration and reground themselves. I want friends and family to see look how blessed we are to have this amazing place that we can live in or even visit. You don’t even need to go to the vortex to pick up on the energy. Just by hiking the White Clouds Trail, you can feel like you’re floating.”
