Get a first look advanced screening at “Kiss of the Spider Woman” during the Sun Valley Film Festival’s screening on Thursday, Sept. 25.
The 2025 musical drama, part of the festival’s Monthly Movie series, will show at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at The Argyros in Ketchum.
The two-hour film follows a political prisoner named Valentin as he forms an unlikely bond with his cellmate—Molina, a window dresser convicted of public indecency. In time, Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva Ingrid Luna.
The cast stars Jennifer Lopez as Ingrid Luna, alongside Tonatiuh and Diego Luna.
The movie, directed by Bill Condon, is based on a stage musical by Terrence McNally, John Kander and Fred Ebb. It is the second film adaptation of the 1976 novel by Argentine author Manuel Puig.
The film juxtaposes the grittiness of prison life in Argentina with the Technicolor lavishness of a MGM film. It received a standing ovation at the Sundance Film Festival and is set to be released in U.S. theaters in mid-October.
Tickets are available at the box office of The Argyros or by going to https://sunvalleyfilmfestival.org/monthly-movies/.
