Country music singer Chuck Briseno will headline the Blaine County Fair’s concert on Saturday, Aug. 8.
The George West, Texas, native, who was raised on a mix of Tejano, country and red dirt sounds, has toured from coast to coast sharing the country rhythms he developed hunting crawdads in the Oklahoma grit.
The Blaine County Fair gets underway on Monday, Aug. 3, with a slew of horse shows, oral presentations and the 4-H BBQ. It runs through Saturday, Aug. 8, when Briseno will present a free concert following the 7 p.m. Rodeo.
Highlights include an ATV Rodeo at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5; a Prime Rib/BBQ Dinner by Jon’s s BBQ from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, followed by a Barn Dance; free Bouncy Houses for the kids from 10 am. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, followed by the Dutch Oven Cook Off from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and the Kid’s Rodeo at 7 p.m.
Matt and lisa Hoskins, who live south of Bellevue will be the 2026 Grand Marshals. Matt got a Crops & Soils degree from Oregon State University before going to work with Clearwater Landscaping, eventually becoming its owner.
Lisa has been a business teacher at Wood River High School since 1998. All three of the couple’s children have participated in 4H from age 8 showing swine, steers and even a turkey while their parents supported the 4H community with monetary and equipment donations and more.
