Artificial intelligence has become something akin to our right hand as we’ve called on Alexa to tell us everything from the day’s weather forecast to spitting out a recipe for spam musubi and Kool-Aid pickles.

It’s also been maligned as an evil entity bent on taking over the world.

Paul Zimmerman, the director of Technology for the Blaine County School District, will discuss how we can make AI a partner in our daily life in a free program at 5:30 p.m. tonight--Tuesday, Nov. 26--at Ketchum’s Community Library.

Zimmerman will explore what AI is, how it fit our lives and the ethics behind the modern-day tool. He will also answer whatever questions the audience has.

You can see the program in person by reserving a seat at https://thecommunitylibrary.libcal.com/event/13296488. The program will also be livestreamed and available to watch later at https://vimeo.com/event/4708227.

Zimmerman earned a Bachelor’s of Science of Leadership from Bellevue University—a private university in Bellevue, Neb., followed by a Master’s Degree in Leadership. He is currently enrolled in a Human Capital Management PhD program.

Zimmerman has worked with Google and Nintendo to bring new ideas to the Blaine County School District. He also has led bi-monthly Tech Help Desks at the Community Library since 2009.
