With all the art Sun Valley has to offer—both from locals and internationally known artists—you might find yourself asking: How do I start or grow an art collection? How good is art as an investment?

Nationally renowned artist Judith Kindler, who works out of her art studio in Hailey, will share insider information about fine art collecting during a free program titled “The Wonderful Experience of Collecting Art” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Ketchum’s Community Library.

Kindler will address a passion that can be both exciting and valuable, even as it can be complex and intimidating to approach.

Kindler has more than 50 years in the art world as a painter, fine art photographer and sculptor. She owned a gallery in Seattle before moving full time to Sun Valley. And she has sat on the boards of Pratt Fine Arts, Poncho, Cornish College of Arts and the National Home Furnishings Board.

She also has had seven books published on her art.

Locally, she is represented by Gail Severn Gallery.

You can save a seat at https://thecommunitylibrary.libcal.com/event/13296524. The program also will be livestreamed and available to view later at https://vimeo.com/event/4745281.
