Addi Featherman, Fleur Brazil and Anna Yuras swept the V1 U19 Women’s Ski Podium recently during the International Freeskiers and Snowboarders Association Jr 2* V1 & V2 held at Snowbasin in Utah.

Weather aside, it was a strong trip for the team.

“The weather was variable on Saturday during our Volume 1 competition,” said Catie Reed, SVSEF Big Mountain Coach. “Our U19 Women swept the podium that day, with two of our first-year Big Mountain athletes securing second and third place.

“Unfortunately, they only made it through a few U19 Men's competitors on Saturday before calling off the comp for the remainder of the day due to poor visibility, so our U19 Men did not get the opportunity to showcase runs that day.”

Sunday the sunshine peaked through for a few hours in the morning, making for a gorgeous setting for the course inspection and warm-up. By the time U19 competitors dropped into the start, the clouds and flat light had rolled back in.

“The visibility remained manageable throughout the afternoon,” said Reed. “All of our SVSEF athletes laced some incredible runs and we brought home second place in both U19 Women's Ski, and U19 Mens Ski!”
