Efforts to put a roof over the new stage at Hop Porter Park in Hailey recently got a big boost with the Hailey City Council’s decision to earmark $200,000 for the project.

The Kiwanis Club of Hailey and the Wood River Valley have been holding a Raise the Roof fundraiser for the project. The project is estimated to cost between $200,000 and $250,000, said Bob Wiederrick, past president of the organization.

The project involves building the support structure and roof, installing lighting and electrical, and building the rear wall of the stage.

The Kiwanis Club pledged $10,000 to kickstart this project. A Donor Board will recognize major donors who donate $1,000 or more.

To donate, go to https://haileykiwanis.org/ or send a check to: Kiwanis of Hailey and the WRV, PO Box 901, Hailey, ID 83333. Deposits may also be made at Mountain West Bank in the Kiwanis of Hailey Playground Projects account.
