Shakespeare’s famous twins seem to appear in most of his comedies.

And on Wednesday Laughing Stock Theatre will welcome its favorite Shakespeare twins to The Argyros for a holiday comedy show titled “Idaholy Night!”

The twin-ter wonderland will follow a benefit for Laughing Stock Theater, which begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at The Argyros in Ketchum. It will feature Paul and Robbie Rescigno, who have been staples in Laughing Stock Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park for the past five years and who have performed their holiday show in New York City.

The two have turned sibling squabbling into an art form. “We also look pretty good in our sweater vests!” they say. Tiered seats are $50, available at https://www.laughingstocktheater.com/ or https://www.theargyros.org/calendar/idaholy-night-with-the-rescigno-brothers. Cabaret tables seating four cost $275.

But, wait! There’s more!

Laughing Stock Theater will unveil its upcoming season, which happens to be its Golden Anniversary season—at the benefit event.

The season includes:

January – March: Continuing Improvisation classes for grades 4th-8th.

February – May: Four Classic Comedy Playreadings. Dates TBD.

June 29 – July 10: Camp Little Laugh. Music, Improv, Dance & Acting Camp for ages 5-13.

August 4 – 15: Shakespeare in the Park: TWO shows in rep for the first time! They are “Taming of the Shrew” and “1776 the Musical.”

December 19-24: Bi-Annual production of “A Christmas Carol: The Musical.”

There also will be a two-week Shakespeare Workshop for those ages 12 and up taught by the professional actors who will take part in the summer productions.

Laughing Stock Theatre was the only theater company in town when a group of wanna-be thespians started it in 1976. The initial group, headed up by Kathy Wygle, included Steve and Collette Pruitt and Larry Reina.

They rehearsed in their homes and presented most of their shows, including “Oliver,” at the Sun Valley Opera House while it still had a green room and dressing rooms. Eventually, it settled in at the nexStage Theatre—now The Argyros—while Kathy Wygle managed the theater.
