Former Idaho state senator Cole Nicole LeFavour will discuss their newest book, “In the Arms of Mountains” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28 at Hailey Town Center.

The memoir, inspired by LeFavour’s decades-deep roots in Idaho and civic life, is affectionate towards Idaho and contains intimate descriptions of relationships in public office.

“I have been a longtime admirer of Cole’s work and feel so honored that I get to be involved in supporting their most recent project,” said Sarah Hedrick, owner of Iconoclast Books & Gifts. The bookshop is presenting the reading in collaboration with Hailey Public Library.

Cole Nicole LeFavour is an activist and award-winning journalist and writer whose stories and essays have appeared in the North American Review, Idaho Wilderness Considered and Sawtooth-White Cloud, among others. In 2004, LeFavour became the first openly LGBTQ+ member of the Idaho Legislature, elected four times, serving as a state senator and leading multiple acts of civil disobedience at the State Capitol.
