C’s Mountain School of Music is inviting the community to its student performance on Saturday.
Twenty-five students from the school will perform music of the ‘80s at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, in a free concert at the Liberty Theater in Hailey.
The school always designates a theme to its end-of-the- school year concerts. One year, for instance, it focused on the music of the Beatles with students playing instrumental selections from the Beatles, as well as celebrating Beatles hits in song.
Scola opened C’s Mountain School of Music in 2016 in Hailey with the motto that “Music is the Voice of the Heart.”
A singer and composer since 1978, she started studying voice in 1985 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she eventually opened her own voice coaching studio.
After performing in such countries as Brazil, France, Portugal, Ireland, Holland and Austria, she followed the love of her life to Idaho in 2009. She coached at Music N Me for five years before opening her own studio.
Her school teaches voice, acoustic and electric guitar and ukulele. Jason Vontver teaches the drums.
“Our mission is to cultivate the love for instruments, the love for singing, to improve our students’ musical culture, knowledge and skills,” said Scola. “Our concerts are an instrument to teach the students the joy of playing together as music has a very important part in socialization. The concerts also help them learn new techniques and grow confidence.”
