Savor good wine, fabulous hors d’oeuvres and amazing art when the Sawtooth Botanical Garden holds its annual Walk, Wine & Art.

The event—a relaxed evening out in a beautiful public garden—will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden at Gimlet Road and Highway 75.

Art experts will be stationed at the garden’s 12 fine art sculptures to point out interesting facets of each. Ruth Bloom, who donated many of the sculptures, will be honored in a brief ceremony.

“We’re pretty excited about it,” said the garden’s board chair Kathie Gouley. “We’ll have five stations with appetizers paired with wines starting from white on down. And then people will be able to learn about the sculptures, which are very valuable and really add to the experience of walking through the garden.”

Those in attendance will be able to walk around the garden’s five acres, enjoying representations of the alpine, riparian, lava and other biomes around Sun Valley, as well as the Garden of Infinite Compassion and the Prayer Wheel blessed by the Dalai Lama.

Ruth Bloom, who is one of the foremost collectors of contemporary art in the world,  donated six of the sculptures, and the garden is raising money for a sculpture created by Meg Webster, a renowned sculptor.

“The sculptures are wonderful as they lend so much to the landscape,” said Kristin Poole, former artistic director at the Sun Valley Museum of Art.  “Walk, Wine & Art is a wonderful way to honor Ruth, and it’s always wonderful to see the art.”

Tickets are $100 per person--$50 for anyone under 35, available at https://www.sbgarden.org/. Proceeds benefit the garden, which hosts everything from children’s Discovery Camps to workshops, weddings and celebrations of life.
